Downtown Pittsburgh in the Fall

It's Tuesday....yay! Today happens to be the University of Pittsburgh's fall break so Stacey and Cass have the day off, but Nadya doesn't (her fall break was last week). Yesterday it snowed!! We were all so excited that we immediately decided that we needed to spend the day outside.

We had a bit of a late start to the morning--who wants to leave their bed when it's 36 degrees outside?! But we finally headed outside and made our way downtown, or as us Pittsburghers like to call it, dahntahn.

Market Square and PPG Place are favorites of ours, so we went there first. After some warm food and a stop at Starbucks for our chai lattes, we walked over to Point State Park to view the rivers and the iconic fountain. The fountain wasn't quite as high as it usually is because of the high wind, but it was still amazing.

The local football team, the Pittsburgh Steeler's, were playing yesterday against the Arizona Cardinals (they won 25-13!!). Heinz Field is right across the river from the point, and we could literally hear the packed stadium from where we were screaming!

After some time at the point, we decided to just walk through downtown, particularly the Cultural District. We were so consumed in the old buildings and the theaters--while also doing some apartment searching in the process.

After a day in the cold, we decided to curl up in comfy blankets with the smells of homemade apple cider courtesy of Cass and continue our Harry Potter marathon. Days like this are what remind us of our amazing friendship and the beautiful city we live in. Below are the pictures we took from our day out on the town!

If you're in the Pittsburgh area or happen to live here and haven't been to the Point, get there! It's amazing to be steps from the water and see all that Pittsburgh has to offer in one location. Since the holidays are approaching quickly, the fountain will soon be replaced with a giant Christmas tree and the fountain at PPG Place will soon be transformed into an ice rink. We'll be visiting again soon to see it transformed.

As always, thanks for reading! Have a wonderful week.
